Presentation Tips

It is important to plan the layout and presentation of your final product very early in the process. When you have a plan in mind, check that it will meet the requirements. For example, Science Display projects require a specific layout.

More tips:

  • Plan the text size so that your writing will fit into the required space or shape.
  • Hand writing should be neat so that it is easy for others to read.
  • When typing, use a maximum of two font types (e.g. Arial; Times New Roman) in your entire project. Never use a font that it hard to read.
  • Limit the font sizes to heading size, text size and at most one other size. Do not overuse bold, italic and underline.
  • Make sure that diagrams are located close to the text with which they are associated.
  • Lightly sketch diagrams and drawings to make sure that they fit the space. When you are satisfied, darken the outlines.
  • Usually shading is better than dark colour. Try to make your shading consistent.
  • Label diagrams and provide captions so that the reader has a clear understanding what the diagram represents.
